Away in Michigan, missing tabbed browsing and absolutely frustrated with the glacial loadings of Internet Explorer on my mom's cast-off old PowerBook, I decided to start using Camino, which had been installed but largely left fallow, instead. It's like Firefox for Macs! Except that I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to set Camino so that my home page brings up multiple tabs. Anyone out there have any idea?

Also, while I'm obsequing, lynnmonster? I finally watched Full Metal Alchemist on Saturday like you asked all that time ago, and I'm afraid I might have been hooked, though lost. Any chance you could whip up some VCDs?

I don't have all the episodes, but I can send you the first batch via snail mail (as mpegs on a CD-ROM) if you email me your address; alternatively, I could dropload or yousendit a few to you, to see if that works.

Well, I see the following advantages in snail-mail:

• If they work anything like The OC, I can watch them comfortably on my TV

Well, I can't find the first 8 eps, so I'm re-downloading. But I've got 9 through...something...ready to go right away. If you've got an alternative source for the first 8 -- thanks, boniblithe! -- then I'll send a batch starting with 9 in the next day or two. Is that good?

(P.S. -- What I've got are the fansubs, not dubs like on TV. I actually like the voices better, and I'm sure you won't have any problem reading along...)

Yeah, in Googling around trying to figure out how to solve my own problems, I learned that while Camino may be like "Firefox for Macs," Firefox is Firefox for Macs. So I feel a little hasty.

However, while I love me some Firefox (now that I've just installed AdBlock and learned that I can single-handedly cause the demise of the free internet experience), I didn't want to install any new programs on my mother's computer if I didn't have to. And Camino is pretty firefoxy in its own right.
