GIP!!

A gratuitous icon post, for this:

Some might remember that I exclaimed "Icon!" when we reached this moment (just after Flash has accidentally fired several Thanagarian missiles into the east wing of Wayne Manor) in our viewing of "Starcrossed" at the last ATPo Gathering. And here we are, only eight months later!

This icon was an unintended consequence of my recent dalliance with BitTorrent. Before, making my own screencaps was a laborious process involving a camcorder, a memory stick, and technical assistance from Rube Goldberg. Now, it's just a matter of PrntScrning the right frames in VirtualDub.

I could go on about the technical process, but what most interests me is that I managed to misquote Batman. What he actually says in the episode is "That's not helping!" I have managed to make a statement more antisocial than that made by a semi-psychotic, overly violent loner.

And, indeed, looking at my icons not only endangers epileptics and those prone to migraines, but presents a chilling assessment of my character. It's a little disturbing to realize how many of my icons are antagonistic. Just in the DC section of my icons I have a direct accusation of insanity:

and an equal opportunity political mudsling:

My only icon useable in Full Metal Alchemist contexts is Ed Elric vehemently expressing his frustration:

a frustration I don't share when I comment on other people's FMA posts.

I'm afraid I may be presenting myself as a much more negative person than I, gentle and generous to a fault, mild-mannered to the point of meekness, truly am. And I worry about this so much that I hardly ever even use some of my icons:

God forbid anyone think I'm mocking him.

I wouldn't want to criticize anyone's literary analyses.

Did I just say you're senile?

Yeah, that's right! I impugned your dental hygiene!

Hah!

mild-mannered to the point of meekness

Mild-mannered, perhaps. Meek, never.

I say this is just your cunning ploy to inherit the earth.

I'd just have to wait for everyone else to die . . .

Patience is a virtue, my dear Watson.

Whee! *adores your overly antagonistic and sardonic self* Great icon! Kudos on learning the tech to do it.

Interesting post, d'H. I wonder how reflective of our personalities our icons really are. Besides my pairings or fandom icons, I try to always have icons that express emotions or sentiments, like my Angel Brood one, or my Willow-Xander "where there is injury, pardon" icon. Sometimes I make snarky icons, but I can't bring myself to use them because I'm afraid of coming across as too bitchy. You obviously don't have that fear! *g*

No, I absolutely do have that fear!

Unless you intended that to be ironic. Hmmm. An examination of your icon suggests that you would never do that.

Unless you intended the icon to be ironic!

Interpret this. *points to icon* Ha!

Err, wait, are you saying that it's obvious because I come across as too bitchy?

Never fear, you're absolutely wonderful just the way you are! *pets d'H*
