And what's the Pete Rose LMVP? Is that for the player who does the most to affect the spread?

I watched (or listened to) most of the halftime show, but must admit that I didn't see Janet Jackson's breast. I just wasn't paying attention. I don't suppose I'll ever have that chance again. Just like the Britney/Madonna/Christina Aguilera kiss, it's gone into the sinkhole of live television, never to be seen.

What's that? I have seventy cable channels? I have CNBC, which will be showing it every five minutes for the next week?

Enh. Watching CNBC makes me itchy.

My basic thoughts during the halftime show went more along the lines of, "Puff Daddy and Nelly are on the same stage and they're not singing 'Shake a Tailfeather'? Don't they understand marketing?"

At this point, I'm all about the Grammys. I had heard that OutKast would be performing a "tribute to funk," but now I have the expectation that Prince and Earth Wind & Fire will show up too.

Oh, and I feel that if a team wins the Superbowl because of a field goal, they should be allowed to accept the Vince Lombardi trophy, but they have to attend the presentation wearing dresses.

Didn't watch the game. As for the Hubble petition, do you think Bush gives a damn what I think if I'm not from the U.S.? Cuz there's no "other" for state or zip code. I could always lie, of course...

It's supposed to somehow persuade Congress, and since they're going to look at whether or not this might cost them votes, they probably would prefer signatories be American.

I never encourage people to lie. I tell people that it's possible to lie and that I won't think any worse of them if they do it in a good cause, but I don't encourage it.

Spoken like a good son of two lawyers. I still don't understand why you don't go to law school You've got the most important part, the moves, down exactly right.

I decided to watch to see the commercials and I did see part of the half time show. Being buried as I am deep in the wilderness of Michigan, and being of a certain age, I'm not to connected to popular culture. I remember watching the show and thinking, gee is that Michael Jackson? It sure looks like something he'd do. I missed the breast, too. Of course, I have seen it 18 times on CNN in the short space of an hour.

I need some sort of interesting name to sign these things with. Any ideas?

In some places,it's considered child abuse to encourage your son to become a lawyer. Professionals will be called to intervene if he starts saying nice things about John Edwards.

And if CNN isn't enough, there's Drudge:

You can decide on that if and when you get an LJ of your own.

Dresses, dresses, dresses, dresses

It would have been interesting to see the Patriots in dresses two years ago when they beat the St. Louis Rams 20-17 on a last second field goal in SB XXVI.

Even more interesting would have been SB XXV in 1991. The Giants beat Buffalo 20-19 with a field goal. But they almost lost when Buffalo's Scott Norwood narrowly missed a field goal as time ran out. The seamstresses would have been going crazy not knowing which team to take measurements of.

Oh, you'd have to prepare dresses for both teams well in advance, much as you do with championship-celebrating t-shirts, caps, etc. I suppose the unused dresses would become prized rarities, demanding a premium on eBay, while the used dresses of the winning team would be shipped straight to Canton for enshrinement. Soon, in fact, the dresses would enter public consciousness. The announcer on NFL Films would gravely intone, "Like gladiators of old, two teams would meet upon that storied field, but only one would emerge in the drag of victory." It could change society as we know it!
