Video of me crossing the finish line at the Cleveland Triathlon can be viewed, over and over again, on infinite repeat, here.

Awright! You actually get close enough to be recognizable at the end! And you don't even slow down after you cross the finish line--unlike those wimps running behind you!

Way to go, d'H!!

Just off the frame to the right is someone offering me a bottle of water. I really wanted that water.

Wow, you're so inspiring! I hope to take up running soon. Well, first start with walking, right? :D but a whole Triathlon? I would never dream of doing that!

I'm a great fan of the coolrunning.com Couch-to-5K plan (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml). I'd also recommend getting shoes fitted at a specialized running store, and reflecting on how lucky you are: your terrain can't get any flatter.

(Not that you really wanted my advice! But you get my encouragement too!)

well, i started running in Orlando and Dallas, where its also very flat :D though probably not as much as here :D but its way too hot most of the year there to run outside. I think I actually got up to 5K in 1 hour. I was going more for distance than speed. I had to stop when I came to NL and was sick all the time and then had back problems which led to excess weight (bad for the knees while running). I did lose 25 pounds last year (walking on treadmill in house with hill climbing) and was about to start running again when I got pregnant. 'Life is what happens when you're busy making plans' :D After the baby, I expect to do tons of walking (pushing a stroller for weight training) in our nice village neighborhood and then I can get back to (slow) running. My husband can actually run since he's much more fit than I am. But he is too embarrased to run outside until he can do 30 minutes straight. He also has 12 hour days since he has to commute 3 hours with the train so he's too tired to do much when he gets home (other than of course the getting the house ready for the baby). But I have a potential running partner for the future. :) We have the 'Dummies guide to running' and we have appropriate clothes, and our own treadmill (with a computer in front of it where we can watch Buffy or Angel DVDs), so we have no excuse really, other than things are chaotic at the moment!

I didn't know that you're pregnant! Congratulations!

Of course, I also didn't know that you could travel for three hours without leaving the Netherlands, so I don't know that much really.

Jeroen should know that if he can run for 60 seconds straight, no one will watch him long enough to know that he's not slowing down after finishing a 10K.

I remember when I first set up my laptop in front of the exercycle; pure heaven. Bit-torrented tv shows and Killer Sudoku helped get me into shape!

I think you have real excuses; again, congratulations!
